The Westfield Kiwanis Club congratulates our member Laurie Tingley Matthews on being named Westfield’s 2025 “Volunteer of the Year.” She was also presented with the city’s “Extra Mile Hero” award for her extensive work in the community as a Salvation Army volunteer.
The award was presented at a ceremony Oct. 30 at the Westfield Senior Center.
Matthews is a seven-year member of Westfield Kiwanis.
According to the city’s web site, the Westfield award “… is part of the national ‘Extra Mile America’ initiative, which celebrates and encourages the dedication and effort of those who contribute their time and energy to service and volunteerism on ‘Extra Mile Day’ Nov. 1.“
