Darci Furr recognized at Chamber event

Westfield Kiwanis Club director Darci Furr was recognized Friday for her recent retirement after 28 years of service in the Massachusetts National Guard.

Darci was honored at the at the Greater Westfield Chamber of Commerce’s September breakfast at Barnes Air Reserve Base, hosted by the 104th Fighter Wing. Her service was recognized by 104th Fighter Wing commander Col. David Halasi-Kun. She is an assistant vice president of BankESB, and branch officer at the bank’s Broad Street, Westfield, location.

Westfield Kiwanis was well-represented at the Chamber event. Club president-elect Amanda Waterfield is the chamber’s executive director. Also present were Club President George Delisle, Secretary Geana Delisle, and member Denise Clark, who is BankESB’s Senior Assistant Branch Manager.

Brandon Okezie, the new president and chief operating officer of Baystate Noble Hospital, was the keynote speaker at the annual event. Okezie told the gathering of the importance of Baystate Noble as a health service provide to Westfield and surrounding communities west of the Connecticut River. He said that the hospital’s management is working to assure that it will continue to serve the area well into the future.
