Kiwanis Circle K hosts Breakfast with Santa

Hundreds of local children got the chance to meet jolly old St. Nick himself Saturday when the Westfield State University Kiwanis Circle K Club hosted its annual “Breakfast with Santa” event.

Assisting as volunteers at the event were members of the Westfield Kiwanis Club, as well as members of the Kiwanis Builders Club from Westfield Middle School. Members of several non-affiliated Westfield State University clubs also took part.

The event, held at the WSU Dining Commons, gives the younger set a chance to talk one-on-one with Santa himself, while their parents were introduced to the beautiful college campus and the great food offered in the university dining hall.

Participants were treated to face painting and games, courtesy of the Builders Club volunteers, and many items donated by Kiwanis Club members were raffled off. Of course, all of the children got the chance to have their pictures taken with Santa.

Kiwanis Club President George Delisle said, “We look forward to this event all year. It’s a chance to support our sponsored youth program members in presenting an excellent program to the public, while charging us all up with the holiday spirit.”

The Westfield Kiwanis Club sponsors service leadership youth clubs in Westfield schools at every level, including three elementary school K-Kids Clubs, Builders Clubs at Westfield Intermediate School and Westfield Middle School, Key Clubs at Westfield High School, Westfield Technical Academy, and St. Mary’s High School, and, of course, Circle K at Westfield State. In addition, the club sponsors the Connecticut River Valley Aktion Club, which serves adults with developmental disabilities.
