The Westfield Kiwanis Club joins the entire community in mourning the passing of our honored past president, the Very Rev. Joseph Soltysiak, pastor of St. Joseph’s National Catholic Church, who died Monday, Dec. 22 after battling multiple illnesses.
Father Joe, as he was known to his fellow Kiwanians, was a 25-year member of the Westfield Kiwanis Club. He served as club president in 2003-2004, and was a trusted confidant and advisor to all those who followed him in that office. He received the club’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Clergy Pension Fund of the Polish National Catholic Church or St. Joseph’s Polish National Catholic Church.
Calling hours will be held at Firtion-Adams Funeral Home, 76 Broad St. Westfield, MA from 4:30pm-7pm on Sunday, December 28th. Father Joe will lie in state from 9 am-10 am at St. Joseph’s Polish National Catholic Church, 73 Main Street, Westfield on Monday, Dec. 29th. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by his son, Rev. Jason Soltysiak, at 10 am. Final resting place will be at Holy Trinity Cathedral Cemetery in Manchester, NH. Use this link to view the full obituary.
