Westfield High School Choir Charms Kiwanis Club with Yuletide Performance
The Westfield Kiwanis Club’s December 14th meeting rolled out with a holiday serenade when the Westfield High School choir took center stage in a cozy room of Shaker Farms Country Club in Westfield. Led with zeal by director Korey Bruno, the choir’s voices filled the room, creating a warm, festive ambiance that complemented the season’s joy.
Dressed in shimmering burgundy and tuxes, the young women and men presented a repertoire of Christmas classics, reimagined with innovative arrangements that cast a new light on “Jingle Bells” and “12 Days of Christmas.” The fresh takes on these beloved tunes were not only a testament to the students’ talents but also showcased Bruno’s creative direction.
While the performance was the centerpiece of the evening, it also served a subtle, yet important purpose. A hat was discreetly passed around to aid the choir’s goal of participating in a competition at Universal Studios in Florida, acknowledging that aspirations come with a price tag—especially when air travel is involved.
With the Kiwanis Club’s meeting enriched by the gift of music, the choir reminded everyone of the power of community and the arts. Their performance was a prelude to their larger goal, yet the evening remained focused on the joy of the season and the talent of Westfield’s youth.
“The performance was a wonderful gift to our Kiwanis members and put us all in the Christmas spirit. Thanks so much to Korey and the kids for making a special visit for us!” said Anne Benoit, President of the Westfield Kiwanis Club.
